May 2018 The Administration disbands the White House pandemic response team.
July 2019 The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) epidemiologist embedded in China’s disease control agency left her post, and the Administration decided to eliminate the role.

Much has been made of the fact that the Obama Administration had created a Pandemic Response Team that was subsequently disbanded by Trump.  Trump made a great show of abolishing anything and everything Obama every accomplished.  Make of this what you want.
